Coming from Fondotoce the entrance to the climb is just after the railroad bridge and for a hundred meters it is flat. Nice surprise! a climb that in just under a kilometer leads to the hamlet of Montorfano di Mergozzo. Coming from Fondotoce the entrance to the climb is just after the railroad bridge and for a hundred meters it is flat. At a certain point you catch a glimpse of the "wall" which comes off to the left and remains so until the hamlet cemetery, with really hard gradients and no moments to rest except for very short stretches where the gradient approaches 10 rather than 15%. The ascent ends along with the'asphalt at a small parking lot. The road continues unpaved for 200m to reach the small group of old houses built around a small Romanesque church. A drinking fountain is also located near a canal. It's pleonastic to note that such a wall can be tackled only with proper ratios or if equipped with excellent training and power. PErsonally I tackled it quietly with a 34x30 and 34.
L'ascesa termina assieme all'asfalto in un piccolo parcheggio.
Nice sharp, dry tear leading to the medieval hamlet of Montorfano. A wall for the first 500m
Well... so this is a wall. If you start riding in a low gear straight away, you will get to the top. If you don't, shifting gears becomes more difficult and it becomes a downright battle. Not my type of hill.
