This climb is a great challenge. Immediately above Capovalle very steep (note that there is immediately a section of, I estimate, 20% in it of about 50m!), then it flattens out but never actually drops below 10% for any length of time, outside turns of the hairpins are somewhat your points to recover. The last kilometre (after the last hairpin) it flattens slightly and feels like almost no steepness due to the high percentages you have become accustomed to.

The road surface is in perfect condition and there is little traffic. Views at the top are beautiful. A tip is to walk to the panoramic view from the end point (a rifugio where you can eat and drink fine food, pin possible), about 10 minutes. Here you have great views over Lake Idro and the Adamello Mountains behind.

The route can also be started from the top of Passo san Rocco, just above Capovalle. You will then cycle a short distance through Capovalle, but this is only suitable as an outward journey. On the return trip, follow the route indicated above by following the signs "Lago d'Idro" and "Lago del Garda".
