I've been meaning to try this climb for quite some time. From the old "Statale" leaving Perino towards Bobbio you will find a left turn for Filippazzi and the sanctuary. Immediately the climb starts with double digit gradients to set the tone for the rest of the road. Very nice panoramas of the Trebbia valley. The road will keep climbing until the village of Filippazzi where you can replenish your water bottles at the sanctuary. From there continue to Gavi and eventually you can either continue to Passo S.Barbara or descend into Bobbio. All in all a very scenic if demanding road in the nature, with little to no traffic.
