I made it all the way to Prati di Fascia, where the road then descends toward Case Cornua (86% of the climb); the last stretch isn’t worth it—the pavement is in terrible shape, and at the top there’s nothing but the noise of cell towers, with a view identical to the one below. It’s a long climb, fascinating because it’s just a stone’s throw from the city. There’s little shade, but the open views are stunning—the vista of the Port of Genoa is truly unique. It’s also worth heading down toward Case Cornua—you often come across horses grazing right in the middle of the road. I climbed it on a sunny Friday morning in July: few cars, lots of cicadas, and a bird of prey circling overhead, perhaps hoping I’d keel over from the heat!
Nice and steep!
Beautiful views and very challenging category 1, but quite doable, even with a 'non climbing bike'.
Lekker steil!
