The scenery is pleasant and at the top you will find a nice refreshment point with a kiosk that opens only sporadically on weekends, but there are no alternatives for the descent (on asphalt); you will have to be very careful on the descent because the road, although it has little or no traffic, is rather narrow and you will only find moderate traffic on weekends on fine spring/summer days; the quality of the asphalt is decent, there are no major potholes but you will often find dirt.
