As the graphic indicates, it's a climb in 2 parts, very hard for the Col de la Croisette, with gradients of between 11 and 12 % but under the trees and therefore constantly in the shade, with limited car traffic. The second part is much smoother, but on asphalt that doesn't necessarily feel very good and is completely in the open.

Ascent on 25.07.2024: very short and very intense. The start up to the local car park is a very good warm-up for what awaits you at the top. If you have trouble on this climb, come back when your legs feel better :-)

Take a break in the local car park and eat well or anything else you like, because after that you won't be able to stop. It's minimum 10% and maximum 17% inside the pins. I advise you to dance on the hairpins or take the outside (watch out for those coming down) otherwise you'll be on the ground as it's so steep on the inside of the bend.

Contrary to what you might think, it's doable if you don't have 100km in your legs and it goes by relatively quickly (it took me 45' for the 4km).

As for the gear ratio, not being a climber, I recommend a 34 or 36 at the rear, otherwise it will be very hard :)

To be done! PS: the descent puts the brakes to the test, so don't go down there if you're breaking in ^^.

A faire!

about 4.4km at 11.1% AVERAGE ...nice to test your climbers legs
this is the short and steep way up the Saleve.
Most sections are in the shades between the trees...which is nice when it's a hot summer day.
once at the top you've a view at the Mont Blanc

It could be because of the heavy rental bike, but the climb was very hard. The percentages mentioned with the climb are a bit distorted since the last kilometers are flat, the averages up to Col de la Croisette are very hard (one km of 13%, steepest 100 meters 16%). Despite that, it is a nice climb with nice views of Geneva from the top. Little traffic and reasonable tarmac.
