The first part up to the main road is sometimes really bad. The second part however is really worthwhile. You really get an Ardennes feeling here, with beautiful views and ditto forest. The track on top of the ridge to the left through the forest is worth taking. Lovely bulbs to 's Gravenbrakel.... read more

Bad start over a narrow and battered road, but once at the top it turns into a nicer and steeper climb with fine views, making it still worthwhile.

The first part is on horrible road condition, only a narrow strip , the rest is sunken probably because of tractors. You then turn right and the roads becomes perfect, a bit steeper too. i would do it for the completion, but would prefer the other variant

I have very mixed feelings about this climb. The foot of the climb'that is, right to the end of the descent or the flat area'is atrocious, horrible, on the verge of being passable. You can't call them holes, but craters - go and have a look and you'll understand. I had to put my foot down twice (in wet weather I didn't want to slip, but in dry weather I might). I'm done with this atrocity now for the 2nd part. I was pleasantly surprised by the view when I got back to a road with VERY good tarmac HERE. The view is beautiful and the climb is steep. In view of what I've said, you'll understand that I'm only giving it one star because the first part spoils everything and doesn't make you want to do the climb again from this side but from another. All the more so as the local authority is not prepared to rebuild the road as it is a backwater with three farms.
