I had waited until there had been some warm, dry days before doing this climb. That way I was sure it would be all dry.
Number 1 in the Hageland, so this one was on my list. Climb starts in a small hamlet. In the distance you can already see a farm higher up, that's where we have to go.
The cobbled section wasn't too bad. The cobbles are good. I know much worse roads.
Then comes the "gravel section". Lots of loose pebbles and some bumps in the road surface. I was in the saddle the whole time, but because of the loose pebbles, I was patinising my rear wheel the whole time. Even if I put power, that power didn't come across. That did frustrate after a while. I was more concerned with finding a good track, than with the steepness of the climb. I didn't think it was a tough or steep climb either, just made difficult by the surface.
All in all, a very quiet little road in nature. But I'm not going to put it in my rides any more anyway.

The cobbles are poorly laid but the percentages are doable. The gravel section is also poorly laid, this is actually a mix of some cobbles with a lot of sand over it, deep ruts with me. The climb went on for quite a long time I thought. Nice quiet environment :)

Lekker rustige omgeving :)

Careful because the road surface is very bad. In summer, in dry weather it can be done with a road bike but in the first part the cobbles are very bad and the second part is mainly gravel with a lot of stones but it is long and because of the bad road surface it seems heavier than the percentages suggest. As I always cycle with an MTB this is not a problem but I would still recommend doing this slope with a gravel bike. You do have a lot of beautiful and quite tough slopes in the dense surroundings, or better said gut-busters;

Opgelet want het wegdek is zeer slecht. In de zomer bij droog weer te doen met een wegfiets maar in het eerste deel liggen de kasseien er zeer slecht bij en het tweede deel is vooral gravel met heel wat stenen maar hij is lang en door het slechte wegdek lijkt hij zwaarder dan de percentages doen vermoeden . Aangezien ik altijd met een MTB fiets is dit geen probleem maar ik zou toch aanraden met een gravelbike deze helling te doen. Wel heb je in de dichte omgeving heel veel mooie en best zware hellingen of beter gezegd kuitenbijters;
