The climb to Tyrol's highest pilgrimage site is one of the many side valleys you can cycle up from the old Brenner pass (in this case I crawl!!!) . Turn right when entering Matrei (from Innsbrück), immediately steep upwards with double digit percentages under the impressive Brenner motorway viaduct, followed by the first hairpin bends in the village of Mützens. From then on the narrow road is only accessible to passenger cars (Mautstelle) and a small tourist train. The route then winds ... read more

In contrast to what you see on Google Earth when you click on the Climbfinder route, the entire climb is ASFALTED!!!!!
(probably still old recording)

The climb to Tyrol's highest pilgrimage site is one of the many side valleys you can cycle up from the old Brenner pass (in this case I crawl!!!) .
Turn right when entering Matrei (from Innsbrück), immediately steep upwards with double digit percentages under the impressive Brenner motorway viaduct, followed by the first hairpin bends in the village of Mützens. From then on the narrow road is only accessible to passenger cars (Mautstelle) and a small tourist train.
The route then winds continuously very steeply (+10%) through the pine forest, with a few less steep metres now and then, to the end at the beautiful monastery church with water fountain and refreshment facilities.
Because of the expensive toll there is hardly any traffic, but watch out for wide water drains across the road.

Hidden unknown challenging steep pearl!!!!!!!

Verborgen onbekende uitdagend steile parel!!!!!!!
