This is possibly my favourite climb in the area - on a nice day it has beautiful views and it really feels like you're climbing on your own in the middle of nowhere. It's not too difficult but a lovely long spin to the summit past a reservoir and up through moorland. The road surface is generally ok but poor at the bottom and is rough in places. Depending on the day there can be traffic but it's usually not too heavy and the road is fairly wide. If you get a chance descend it too as it's full gas from the top all the way to the reservoir corner with no brakes!
