So it is doable to cycle. Another option is to descend via Rullen and get the best part of the climb without problems.
About the climb itself: the approach is a bit up and down and not difficult. Only from the side road to Rullen does it really go up and you can see that nicely looming in front of you. Excellent asphalt and a nice slope percentage (great runner also in the last kilometer) whereby the length makes it spicy. Beautiful views, especially to the rear (and the descent is also very nice). Eventually you see a little castle in the distance / height which marks the end point... but then you're still a while to get there. Highly recommended!
Eind januari 2022 nog steeds een opgebroken weg. Het gaat om de eerste paar honderd meter van de klim. Het asfalt is daar verwijderd en er ligt een harde maar wel erg hobbelige gravellaag. Het is dus wel te fietsen. Anders is het een optie om via Rullen af te dalen en het leukste deel van de klim zonder problemen mee te pakken.
Over de klim zelf: de aanloop gaat wat op en neer en is niet zwaar. Pas vanaf de zijweg naar Rullen gaat het echt omhoog en dat zie je dan ook mooi voor je uit opdoemen. Uitstekend asfalt en een lekker hellingpercentage (prima loper ook in de laatste kilometer) waarbij de lengte het wel pittig maakt. Mooie uitzichten, vooral naar achteren (en de afdaling is ook erg fraai). Uiteindelijk zie je een kasteeltje in de verte / hoogte wat het eindpunt markeert... maar dan ben je nog wel even bezig om er te komen. Echte aanrader!

Momenteel (oktober ‘21) wordt er aan de weg gewerkt. Zelfs met de fiets aan de hand is deze weg nu een moeilijke doorgang. Vooral even een andere route pakken voorlopig.

Als klim zijn er inderdaad betere alternatieven in de buurt, maar als afdaling vind ik hem echt prachtig. Mooi uitzicht over het dal van de Voer, ruime bochten, goed overzicht, goed wegdek en prima om flink bij te trappen.
