Crossing the main road after a couple of hundred metres requires a degree of caution in case of passing vehicles, but fortunately traffic is generally fairly light.
I can also confirm that there is a beautiful view at the end of this narrow road, at the entrance to the hamlet of Les Chappes. It was well worth the effort.
The first 150 metres are pretty infamous. Then there's a small respite as you cross the secondary road, and then it's back to the steep gradients. Beautiful, unobstructed views of the Chartreuse from the top.
It's steep, no great scenery, just steep gradients.
