This beautiful short almost literally hidden climb starts with left exiting the main road (towards Val d'Isère) between the succession of tunnels along the big Lac du Chevril. More specifically in the short open-air section between 1 th and 2 th tunnel just after you pass the D87A exit to Tignes.
At the start you cycle past the only cottages on the route in Villaret. Afterwards, the only narrow access road to the desolate protected Nature Reserve la Grande Sassière climbs briskly up the mountainside. Road winds with irregular (sometimes +10) percentages between rock formations and along vertical walls. The terminus in Le Saut, with its small parking area at the small reservoir and uninhabited stone house, is the start of high-mountain hikes for hikers.
They are therefore the only traffic. The tarmac is a patchwork but the panoramic views of the large lake and the snow-capped mountain ranges of Tignes opposite are unforgettable.

Very short beautiful pure nature climb. Thanks Climbfinder!!!
This aside: I was wondering if the riders of Jumbo Visma, regularly on stage in Tignes, ever cycled up here?

Zeer korte prachtige puur natuur klim. Bedankt Climbfinder!!!
