I went for a little bike ride to take a break from the drive to the Netherlands from Spain. I had rather haphazardly planned a lap along this winding road that seemed nice. You can actually wake me up for this road every day. You actually drive from viewpoint to viewpoint, the so-called 'balcons'. At each balcon you have a different view into the Gorges. The climb is quite easy and has some occasional descents in it. On this Sunday afternoon, I found the road quite quiet, apart from some motorcyclists who were snapping through the hairpin bends. The tarmac is top notch. I save the five stars for the super-iconic Alpine climbs, but this one can have 4.5 stars just fine. Beautifully beautiful climb.
Prachtig mooie klim.
A relatively long climb with a very clean surface. This is the gateway to the Gorges de l'Ardèche from the south...
Stunning views of the gorge. Undulating climb, nowhere really difficult
Nice hang in the bends to pick up speed. Cycled in the morning in high season and the road was pretty quiet then.
Verbluffende uitzichten op de kloof. Golvende klim, nergens echt lastig.
A climb with fantastic views of the gorges de l' Ardèche. Not super steep and the occasional good recovery stretch but the views certainly make it worthwhile
