Long, gradual climb over a roadside bike path. Nothing special in terms of scenery, but a tough runner that can be quite challenging with headwinds.

De Lange Raarberg is een bekende naam voor de Nederlandse fietsliefhebber. Echter is de klim niet zo bijzonder. Je rijdt over een fietspad langs de grote weg. In het begin voelt het wat zwaarder. Daarna een lange uitloper. Ik zag hier tijdens de toerversie van de Amstel Gold Race een Italiaan fenomaal breken. Hij knalde onderaan op een groot verzet op de macht van ons weg maar ging op de uitloper stuk en weigerde kleiner te schakelen.
A mostly long run over a two-way bike path (where pedestrians also walk) along a wide road uphill. The first part is not significant in terms of slope but as soon as you turn right you see a nice bump in front of you. After the roundabout the runner starts that flattens very slowly at the top. Een grotendeels lange loper over een tweerichtingsfietspad (waar ook voetgangers lopen) langs een brede weg omhoog. Het eerste deel is niet noemenswaardig qua helling maar zodra je rechtsaf gaat zie je een leuke bult voor je liggen. Na de rotonde begint de loper die bovenin heel langzaam afvlakt. Er is wel een knik naar een lager percentage maar de top ligt dan nog een stuk verder. Fraai uitzicht naar achteren.

Zeker geen pareltje, maar niet verkeerd als je in de buurt bent. Het fietspad met verkeer in twee richtingen is prima. Wel oppassen voor dalende (brom)fietsers. Met oostenwind is de Lange Raarberg allesbehalve een pretje.
