Hidden unknown gem cycled in 2019. Don't stop at the dam but be sure to cycle further until the end of the tarmac road above the green-blue reservoir. Top climb superlatives fall short. Pure nature with no traffic. Thanks to the hotel owner in Sedrun, where I stayed, for the tip!... read more

Lonely, quiet and uniquely beautiful road. Attention: On the way back there is an uphill section ...

Note 2025: Due to the large construction site of the photovoltaic plant at the top of the lake, there is considerable construction site traffic and the road is only temporarily passable for cyclists - it is best to cycle at the weekend!

Like the Frumezan as a side trip from the Glandon, this Lai is worth the detour off the Oberalp. As it is a dead end, there's little to no traffic, the road is in reasonable to good condition. You can cycle on along the lake, past the dam, but depending on weather conditions, this may not be possible on a normal road bike. I do not have nicer pictures than already posted, as I cycled between thunderstorms, but I've uploaded a couple to show the condition of the "road" after the dam.

Verborgen onbekende parel gefietst in 2019.
Topklim superlatieven schieten tekort. Puur natuur zonder verkeer.
