I tackled it after the Neggia pass from Vira (which is not a walk in the park given the 12km at 10% average) and all in all appreciated its toughness given the monstrous gradient in the first km with peaks between 15 and 20%. Compared to the slope up from Musignano, reaching the gorge from the Veddasca Valley is frankly unpleasant and also unchallenging except for these 1.7 km of suffering.... read more

This is seriously steep, especially after the Alpe di Neggia (my Garmin was around 15/16% in the first km).

There is no view except after the hut. Going up you are in the woods, road surface in bad condition and very important slopes ! Just for fun...

Not a long climb, but contains a few treacherously steep sections.

I saw on my Wahoo a good 21%% increase. Short, powerful with an ugly end, just keep going until the church, there is a nice view of Lago Maggiore.
