Phenomenal! Ultra intense. A short rest zone and off we go again. I found this climb quite tough. The undergrowth is beautiful. The road is littered with bits of wood, tree leaves and gravel. I had a puncture at the top. At the top, La Caleuche, an uninteresting abandoned farm. Nobody on this road. I just loved it!... read more

Phénoménal ! Ultra intense.

I did this climb to get back to the camp site after the col de Chevreres without really looking at the gradients. It was a big disappointment. The start is steep but not too bad. The last part is deadly. It kept on going up. Lightest gear and keep pedalling with maximum heart rate. An additional disadvantage were the fallen pine needles on the road. This made it impossible to get out of the saddle.
The last bit to the top we decided to skip. Along the way not much view through the trees. At the top, at the bend in the road, there is a dog barking at you to get to the top, but then you have a last steep stretch straight ahead.
Only do it if you are looking for a real challenge.
Be careful in the descent (both ways)
