A very fine climb near Geneva. The start is steep, but the view from the top is well worth the effort. There are several possible starting points, but be careful not to take the wrong turns on the way down.

A fantastic climb up a quiet, steep and well surfaced road with little traffic (dead end) and awesome views from the top. There are various starting points (La Rippe, Cheserex or Gingins) in Vaud/CH but all lead sooner or later to the well tarmaced road to the huge antenna where you can enjoy a stunning panorama above Lake Geneva and the Alps. During weekends there is more traffic as it is a popular hiking area. Shortly before reaching the highest point there is a branch off road descending a little into the forest which leads to a simple but nice restaurant with a terrace and awesome views. The climb itself is quite challenging with two digit inclination portions above 10% in the first part and towards the end. The particularity of that road is that there are common stretches with traffic in both directions but on the majority of the distance up and downhill traffic are separated which makes it safer especially during fast descents. The road is closed for public traffic during winter with barriers at the bottom.

A great climb, a splendid view, a road in good condition with no traffic, my favourite pass in the Pays de Gex, but a demanding one nonetheless!
