Van alle alternatieven die er zijn om vanuit het Maarkedal naar de N8 te klimmen vind ik de Kokerelle de makkelijkste. Doordat hij wat schuin de heuvel oploopt wordt het nooit echt heel steil en er zitten zelfs enkele vlakke stukken in. Het voordeel hiervan is dat je aan de linkerkant echt een fantastisch zicht hebt op de hele regio. Dat maakt de beklimming al bij al toch een parel omdat je bij de aanpalende beklimmingen vaak recht naar boven rijdt en je dus niet van het uitzicht kan genieten. Kortom, wil je jezelf nog wat extra pijn doen, dan is de Kokerelle niet waar je moet zijn, maar wil je gewoon genieten op de fiets dan moet je hem zeker eens doen!
