I agree with the stories of previous users; the Kleverberg is not an absolute must. To start the climb you cannot avoid cycling through the busy center. The first part of the climb goes via the Gruftstrasse, where it is busy, but there is a separate bike path. After this part the path is much calmer, first through a residential area via the Waldstrasse, and later along the edge of the forest via the Grenzallee. At the crossing to the Grenzallee one has to be careful; my cycling buddy (who was going a bit faster than me) completely missed the exit. From the Grenzallee the percentages go up a bit. During the last part of the climb the busy Nimwegerstrasse has to be crossed, I had to wait a while here, with the consequence that the rhythm was completely gone.

Kleverberg is not my favorite because of the city. I prefer to ride via nutterden direction frasselt reichswald or gelderenberg through the beautiful woods.

Via a bicycle / walking path you do the first piece from the busy road in the valley. It is then quite difficult to find the best way to do the climb at its heaviest. I always take the Grenzallee to cross over to the Klever Berg.

According to me the most difficult side to climb the Klever Berg. The start is not very nice (busy road through town), but after a few 100 meters you turn right and the road becomes a lot quieter. The largest part of the climb is on a bicycle path along the edge of the forest. There the climb also becomes a bit steeper.

Climbing itself not recommended. You cycle through the city of Kleve with lots of height difference. Climb done as part of the Mokerkoning. Very nice trip from Nijmegen to Kleve and back.
