A great ride with a great reward on top!
Ještěd is a somewhat isolated and very prominent mountain, easily recognizable from miles away. The TV tower at the summit is a must-see for all architecture lovers. The road surface is excellent, and the climb is accessible year-round.
The tougher part begins after the left-hand turn (by the kiosk and parking area). The steepest section comes just before the final kilometer, followed by a short stretch of cobbles near the summit.
A bucket-list climb for every cyclist in Czechia — both for the ride itself and the views from the top.
Its a great climb, if not the best then definitely one of the best around Liberec. Grade is quite constant and it only gets steep for a bit in the last third of the climb. There can be some traffic on the road from this side, but it get better as you get out of town. The views from the top are wonderfull and very worth the climb just make sure to climb it on a clear day!
