I recommend the climb to Hallgarter Zange, because unlike most climbs in the area, there is very little traffic here. The disadvantage: you have to ride back down the same way... The lower section is easy to roll into, with pleasant gradients, very good tarmac and an avenue of fruit trees leading to Hallgarten. At the same time, the destination is already in sight and you can already make out the tower at the top of the ridge. It gets crisp in Hallgarten, flattens out slightly behind the villag... read more

The lower section is easy to roll into, with pleasant gradients, very good tarmac and an avenue of fruit trees leading to Hallgarten. At the same time, the destination is already in sight and you can already make out the tower at the top of the ridge. It gets crisp in Hallgarten, flattens out slightly behind the village but remains solid at 8-12%.
After the Rebhang settlement, the road surface deteriorates significantly, but there is virtually no traffic. The road remains steep, with a few smaller ramps that take a lot of energy.
The climb officially ends at the Kreistanne car park. I highly recommend the short further ascent (on an even worse path) to the Hallgarter Zange itself: beautiful estate, great views and nice hospitality - a good place to regain your strength!
