Got through that section feeling pretty good so thought I'd cracked it - little did I know what was to come! The final 300m are brutal. Started this route with a degree of trepidation after reading that there was a corner at 33% midway up the climb. Got through that section feeling pretty good so thought I'd cracked it - little did I know what was to come! The final 300m are brutal. The road rears up ahead - it's already steep (20-25%) but gets even worse as you hit the last 100m - it's got to be 30-35%. Online reviewers seem to suggest that it's the finish, and not the hairpins, that is the hardest part of the climb. I'd agree and think that Veloviewer doesn't get the difficulty right on this section. Might be, of course, that my legs were totally shot at that point and the gradient just felt harder. Even Bwlch-y-Groes felt easier than this climb!
