When leaving Weymouth you have to take one of the routes up the South Dorset Ridgeway and this is my favourite. You approach along the relatively quite road through Upwey, though traffic to the wishing well in summer can cause congestion. The climb itself is not too heavily trafficked and has just been resurfaced. The climb starts with a short ramp before a false flat. Thereafter it is a pretty consistent incline all the way to the top so a good rhythm climb, particularly if you get a nice tail wind. At the top it is straight down the other side on the road bike, but if on a gravel bike you have off road options along the ridgeway itself. According to Strava I have been up this climb 35 times since moving to Weymouth a couple of years ago.
