Pleasant setting, tunnel in the cliff, not too steep a gradient

A gorge that gets more impressive every kilometre. In terms of climbing, nowhere really very steep and tough. Traffic can be a bit tricky. Many tourists and motorcyclists also know how to find this road and because of the narrow road in some parts you have to be a bit considerate of each other. But that shouldn't spoil the fun. If you are around here, go up this climb!

Incredible climb. As you ride higher the gorge narrows from a wide valley with high sides to I tiny crack in the mountainside. One of the most beautiful I’ve ridden. When I rode it in April it was very quiet.

It's a long climb, but it doesn't feel like it when you're on it. It's often cool due to the shadow of the cliff and the chasm on the right. It's very beautiful, but there are sometimes stones on the road and water that can make the track slippery (but especially on the way down).

Unparalleled climb that is beautiful almost everywhere, you cycle between cliffs everywhere, sometimes was narrower, sometimes wider. The only real drawback is the traffic. If at all possible, catch this one in the early morning and you won't regret it.

Not recommended for those prone to vertigo, although the most vertiginous passage is now "cut off" by a tunnel at the place called "d'Arbois", shortly before reaching La Balme-de-Rencurel. Nevertheless, the old road can be reached on foot and the panorama is breathtaking.

The only negative point of this ascent is the traffic, often important. It is indeed the main entrance to the Vercors on this side of the massif. To be avoided during rush hour or during the tourist season.
