The start is quite even through the forest for the first 4 km. After that, the valley starts opening up and you get the most amazing views towards the Grimselpass and the Rhône Glacier. The whole climb is incredibly beautiful and without a doubt worth the effort. The view from the top is not the best, although you have a little view towards the east.
The climb itself is not the hardest. The hardest part is right below the Hotel Belvédère, with a long section with gradients in the double digits.
The lower part of the climb is a bit trafficky, but it gets better after Gletsch.

Actually, I did this pass from Gletsch, having first climbed the Grimsel Pass. By the way, the descent from the Grimsel Pass is very beautiful. Beautiful views and clear back and forth between hairpin bends. The Furka pass is everything you hope for based on the previous reviews. Not too tough, beautiful views and the bit near the hotels feel like the highlight. The pass itself doesn't amount to much ;)

Our stay in Sisikon (Lake Lucerne) remains a nice memory. From Sisikon (450m) practically nonstop climbing towards Altdorf (Willem tell), Wassen (916m) , Andermatt (1437m - stopover) , Realp (1546m) and finally Furkapass (2436m). After the summit here anyway, take a look at the Rhone glacier! The way back afterwards an endless descent.
Also reserve other climbs immediately nearby for other days such as Klaussenpass, Oberalppass, Sustenpass, Gotthardpass... A wonderful nature experience everywhere.

Probably one of the best climbs I have ever done for scenery , almost felt like going back in time with the hotels boarded up as you pass , the surface is perfect and although it’s a long climb it’s not hard , the rewards are at the top , traffic was heavy and I got the feeling that they don’t like cyclists stoping there rides on motor bikes and sports cars passing very close , one off the bucket list and z must do but won’t be doing it again 🤪

Even on a lousy Saturday, it was enjoyable on this climb. So many beautiful elements on the Furka:

- Gletsch with its beautiful old hotels

From the descent of the Grimsel, we went up the Furkapass, which fortunately was still in the sun. A nice overview of where to go. Fine climb with occasional steeper sections. Once we arrived at the hairpins, a nice view of the valley and the descent of the Grimsel from which we had just come. At the top, it is a bit sparse. Especially if you arrive later in the evening and the shadow has fallen over Realp. Cold leads to the descent. But the little pigs that came charging at us during a stopover to warm our fingers were heart-warming (and finger-warming). In August 2019 the first climb in the early morning hours (motorcyclists not yet awake") on the Furka/Gotthard/Nufenen cycle tour.
