This climb follows an excellent tarmac road through a rural area. The road rises slightly (on both sides) before the climb begins. A bit steeper, then flatter and then a bit steeper which somehow feels a bit stiffer than you would expect. After the left-hand bend, it is time to cycle on.
Slight climb but the surroundings (so close to the Netherlands) are green and quiet. From Horbach it is a nice ride along the brook and the castle and also after the climb there is a nice part with view to the right and further on through nice rural and undulating landscape.
NB: The hollow road between Bocholtz and Horbach has recently been tarmaced which makes integrating this nice area into a (Dutch) tour a lot easier.
Deze klim loopt over een uitstekend asfaltweggetje door een rurale omgeving. De weg stijgt al lichtjes (van beide kanten) voordat de klim begint. Even een steiler stukje, dan weer vlakker en dan een net wat pittiger stukje wat op de één of andere manier net wat steviger aanvoelt dan je zou verwachten. Na de bocht naar links is het uitfietsen.
Lichte klim maar de omgeving (zo dicht bij Nederland) is groen en heerlijk rustig. Vanuit Horbach is het langs de beek en het kasteel mooi aanrijden en ook na de klim volgt nog een leuk stuk met uitzicht naar rechts en verderop door mooi ruraal en golvend landschap.
NB: Het holle weggetje tussen Bocholtz en Horbach is recentelijk geasfalteerd wat het integreren van dit leuke gebied in een (Nederlandse) tocht een stuk makkelijker maakt.
