After the summit it becomes a gravel road, but it is of such good quality that (with a bit of a sense of adventure) you could also cycle it all the way to Elmau Castle on a road bike.

Hoewel de start op een drukke weg is, verdient deze klim zijn vier sterren vooral na de eerste haarspeldbocht waar je rechtdoor gaat over de voor auto’s afgesloten weg. Op prima asfalt klim je hier door bos, langs een mooi gelegen meer en enkele open plekken naar de top. Het is er heel rustig en in de herfst krijg je een heel pallet aan kleuren voorgeschoteld. Na de top wordt het een gravelweg, maar die is van zulke goede kwaliteit dat je deze (met een beetje gevoel voor avontuur) ook met een racefiets helemaal naar kasteel Elmau zou kunnen fietsen.
