This is one of the best climbs in the area, with the stunning landscapes of the Moles de Xert, from the summit the views are spectacular out towards the Mediterranean. The road from Xert to the Irmita de Sant Marc is paved, but between there and the main climb for 4-5 km is a gravel track which is NOT suitable for a road bike, the whole climb is better done on a gravel or mountain bike. In the summer it will be very hot and in winter the camino can be blocked with snow.
There are bars, shops and fonts in Xert for supplies or to fill up with water but after Xert there is nothing as the area is very remote.
From the summit it is possible to continue on gravel caminos and mountain road to the village of Vallibona.
