You then pass through a quieter area with some viewpoints but also two tunnels where it is advisable to fit lights on your bike. After the last tunnel, you soon reach Arure where you turn right and face a steep stretch ad 500m. Once you have survived this stretch, you get a short descent where you can catch your breath and climb through the meadows towards the jungle. The last stretch is easier and you cycle through the forest to the summit. This mountain is definitely recommended, great tarmac, quiet roads and respectful fellow road users. I will definitely do this mountain again someday.

Fun recreation during my holidays ... Well, I never got to ride it in a row, we were either too early in the season (April or so) or in October, November, when you have already lost some of your (for me little) climbing condition. Nice of the climb is the fantastic landscape and the many 'hooking points' so that you always have a next goal. Disadvantage is that it is somewhat irregular, with the hardest in the beginning, and almost all day in the sun. Reward: the descent when you return to VGR: except for a few sections between houses, you can follow an ideal line.
