There are only very narrow and steep trails there, so that at best you could ride the challenging sections there on a mountain bike or gravel bike. The entire ascent is tarmac, although the condition is relatively good for the outdoor area. The nice thing is that there is no traffic and you only meet walkers here and there. The first 850 metres or so have an average gradient of 11％ and are particularly tough. However, it should be manageable if you pace yourself correctly. When you see the first houses, you've almost made it. The route then flattens out completely towards the village. A great climb that I often include on gravel tours 👍.

Der Anstieg führt von der etwas abgelegenen Belgenbacher Mühle hoch in den Ort Eicherscheid und ist ein absolutes Muß für alle Kletterfreunde in der Nordeifel. Um den Anstieg mit dem Rennrad zu bewältigen, müssen Sie die asphaltierte Straße zunächst runterfahren, da eine alternative Anfahrt sowohl aus Grünental als auch dem Belgenbachtal nicht möglich ist. Dort gibt es nur sehr schmale und steile Trails, so dass sie die anspruchsvollen Strecken bestenfalls dort mit einem Mountainbike bzw Gralelbike fahren könnten. Der komplette Anstieg ist asphaltiert, wobei der Zustand als relativ gut für die Außenlage anzusehen ist. Das schöne ist, dass es keinen Verkehr gibt und man nur hier und da auf Spaziergänger trifft. Die ersten ca. 850 Meter haben eine Steigung von durchschnittlich 11％ und sind besonders hart. Mit der richtigen Einteilung sollte es jedoch machbar sein. Wenn man die ersten Häuser sieht hat man es fast geschafft. Richtung Ort flacht die Strecke dann komplett ab. Toller Anstieg, den ich oft bei Graveltouren mit einbaue,. 👍
