Exciting ascent to Eggerhof, a crossroads from where hiking and mountain bike trails start on the massif that overlooks the city of Merano from the west.
After crossing the Tel bridge, a sign immediately warns us of "slope 16%" this is the start of a truly breathtaking 1.5 km with four hairpin bends, the first two of which are so steep as to be frightening... yet we realise immediately that the isolated environment, the splendid forest and the tough climb will bring excitement and satisfaction if we hold on to this first section. Without giving up, you put the first 4 kilometres of the climb behind you, in which you literally take a breather at'8%, before attacking the last 3, which are still very hard but offer increasingly excellent views as you approach the destination.
You arrive at the two ramps before the car park still seeing 17% on the cycle computer but by now the adrenalin has wiped out your fatigue and even at very low speed it feels like flying...
For me it was a great experience, highly recommended!
