long, pleasant climb, not too steep, good surface, no traffic!
I climb it as soon as I pass by.
The climb itself is very nice: longer climb and steeper at the beginning. You can make a serious difference to your cycling friends here already. Like the comment above: the last part and the spur after the climb, the road surface is in tremendously poor condition (itt the climb itself where the road surface is good).
I would like to add to the previous comments that the road is currently in a very poor state as it passes through the centre of the village of Dréhance, which is just one pothole after another. It's quite incredible that the local authorities can tolerate such a disaster. The rest is relatively good.
The beginning of this climb is quite steep, with houses on both sides of the road, but after the big loop near the football pitch it becomes more pleasant. On the left you can see Dinant, the road is in good condition and there is not much traffic.
Starts after turning left off the main road when cycling into Anseremme. Hardest part in the beginning between the houses until a long left turn to an uninhabited plateau where it flattens out and even goes downhill for a while.
Then slightly uphill through the village of Dréhance to finish parallel to the main route Charlemagne at the transmitter mast on the plateau.
Poor road surface but doable,no traffic.
Great low-traffic alternative for those who do not want to climb out of Dinant via the very busy Froide Veau (see CF).
A very nice climb, the ised of which is at the Meuse river before going up to the heights. The road is in good condition and with little traffic. The first part, in the houses, is the steepest. On the second half the landscape clears and offers beautiful scenery.
Especially in the beginning steep with then a long less steep spur with beautiful views over the valley of the Meuse.
