A superb addition to climbing on the eastern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Climb about 1 km from the closed gate on the Marchlyn Mawr dam road then take a right turn at an obvious junction. After the initial steep start the climb flattens off for fast km at <5% then sweeps up the mountainside via two huge switchbacks to the finish (actually 10 m or so higher than the top of the Marchlyn Mawr climb). The climb rounds a spur on mountain and gives fine views of the peaks that you don't see from Marchlyn Mawr. You can look down to Llyn Padarn and see just how far you've climbed from Brynrefail. In summary - a different style of climb with different views from the Marchlyn Mawr climb.
