The first part is a good tarmac cycle path that climbs nicely from the tunnel and then flattens slightly. If you turn right, there is an asphalt road with a bit less road surface but which is good to cycle on and which rises nicely towards the clear summit.

Did this climb recently as part of a gravel ride but is fine on a road bike as the climb is fully paved and the approach route and subsequent route are also just paved. It is a nice climb and you then end up in a nice wooded part of Nijverdal.
