Climb right through the center of Lausanne. Good bike lanes but traffic is still difficult given the absolute volume and the numerous stop lights, many of which halt you mid incline. Not what I would describe as a pleasant experience but the traffic and pedestrians make it exhilarating in a strange way. Interesting in that the entire route is lit with street lights so it can be easily accomplished at night, often when there is less traffic. Given that Lausanne is so close to Lavaux where there are numerous excellent climbs, you're time is much better spent there, but this will do in a pinch if you need a workout in the city.
