Deze klim heeft quasi iedereen weleens zien passeren op TV, maar niet tijdens een wielerwedstrijd! De Côte du Barry d'Alleuze ken je namelijk van de opnames van een heuse kaskraker: La Grande Vadrouille met niemand minder dan Louis de Funès!

Het is hier op deze helling dat de befaamde achtervolging van de vrachtwagen door verschillende Duitse motards werd ingeblikt. Je weet wel: meneer Augustin en meneer Stanislas zitten achteraan de vrachtwagen samen met MacIntosh en de non, terwijl ze pompoenen gooien naar de achtervolgende Duitse soldaten op moto's met zijspan. Eén van die motards krijgt een voltreffer op het hoofd, verliest het bewustzijn en knalt met zijn zijspan op een paal waardoor de motor van het zijspan wordt gescheiden. In een haarspeldbocht rijden motard en zijspan los van elkaar, om vervolgens al tuimelend tot stilstand te komen met het iconische Château d'Alleuze op de achtergrond.

De helling zelf opent relatief rustig. De aanloop naar de eerste haarspeldbocht verloopt relatief vlak. Nadien is het gedurende een dikke kilometer percentages verbijten, met een uitschieter tot boven de 10%. Onderweg kom je nog een haarspeldbocht tegen, waardoor je een fraai uitzicht hebt op de reeds afgelegde weg en het verderopliggende Château d'Alleuze. In La Barge blijf je rechtdoor rijden om je weg te vervolgen richting Les Buges-Le Barry, alwaar na een lichte uitloper de absolute uitsmijter wacht van alweer om en bij de 12%.
