Un des très rare col du Calvados disposant d'un panneau à son sommet (avec le Col de Berjou), donc les chasseurs de panneau seront ravis. Un col sans difficulté particulière, une première partie où l'on est en prise puis un replat et même une descente avec d'attaquer les derniers hectomètres avec des rampes assez importantes dans la traversée du village de St Martin mais le sommet sera proche.
