Quietest way to climb away from La Roche. Coarse asphalt but doable, preferably not as a descent. Climb climbs evenly through forest with nice views between meadows at the end.
Rustigste manier om vanuit La Roche weg te klimmen. Grof asfalt maar doenbaar, liever niet als afdaling. Klim loopt gelijkmatig op door het bos met op het einde mooie uitzichten tussen de weides.
This climb is mostly to be ridden up and not down. The road surface is too bad for that. The climb itself is okay but I personally expected more from it

Beautiful climb! The road surface could be better but nice and constant and beautiful scenery. You leave the hustle and bustle of La Roche en Ardenne behind and imagine yourself back in the nature of the Ardennes. Nice view of the Ourthe and then a wide view. Actually a 4.5/5 :)
Mooie beklimming! Het wegdek kan beter maar lekker constant en prachtige omgeving. Je laat de drukte van La Roche en Ardenne achter je en waant je weer in de natuur van de Ardennen. Mooi uitzicht op de Ourthe en daarna een weids uitzicht. Eigenlijk een 4,5/5 :)
A real pleasant surprise. The road surface is indeed not too good, although I have seen much worse, it is perfectly doable with 28mm tyres. You can keep on pumping here for a long time without ever going over the revs.
Een echte aangename verrassing. Het wegdek is inderdaad niet al te best, al heb ik al veel slechter gezien, het is perfect te doen met 28mm bandjes. Hier kan je lekker lang blijven doorperen zonder ooit over het toerental te gaan.
If I had to establish a ranking of my favourite climbs in the Ardennes, this one would occupy one of the first places. Long, quite steep, beautiful landscape, not too much traffic (compared to the Roche-en-Ardenne hill which is parallel to it), I could almost believe I was back in my native mountains when I climb this hill. A real treat!
Si je devais établir un classement de mes montées préférées en Ardenne, celle-ci occuperait une des premières places. Longue, assez pentue, beau paysage, pas trop de trafic (comparé à la côte de Roche-en-Ardenne qui lui est parallèle), je pourrais presque me croire revenu dans mes montagnes natales quand je grimpe cette côte. Un régal !

Much better alternative for the parallel Cote de Roche en Ardenne. Nice climb with small curves and even ascents. Starting in forest and ending in wide meadows which remind of Alpine landscapes.
Veel beter alternatief voor parallelle Cote de Roche en Ardenne. Klimt leuk met kleine bochtjes en gelijkmatige stijgingspercentages. Beginnend in bos en eindigend in brede weides die wat aan Alpenlandschappen doen denken
This is one of those little climbs that is not well known but really worth doing, very quiet, wonderful views and never very steep!
If I lived in the neighbourhood, I would find it an ideal training climb, because it's about 3km above 5-6％ but never steeper than 8％ (and then only very short parts).
The only drawback is the bad tarmac at the beginning of the climb, so it's better to go up than down!
Dit is zo'n klimmetje dat helemaal niet bekend is maar echt wel de moeite waard is om te doen, heel rustig, zalige vergezichten en nooit heel steil!
Als ik in de buurt zou wonen zou ik het een ideale trainingsklim vinden, want hij is toch een goeie 3km boven de 5-6％ maar ook nooit steiler dan 8％ (en dan maar hele korte stukjes).
Het enige minpuntje is de slechte asfalt in het begin van de klim daarom ook beter om erop te gaan dan eraf!
This is one of the quieter climbs out of la Roche, both in terms of traffic and severity. Concrete road surface is not ideal, but uphill it's no problem. In the beginning in the forest, then the landscape opens up with meadows and views.
Dit is één van de rustigere beklimmingen vanuit la Roche, zowel qua verkeer als qua zwaarte. Betonnen wegdek is niet ideaal, maar heuvelop geen probleem. In het begin in het bos, daarna opent het landschap met weiden en vergezichten.
