Very nice 3-kilometre climb from Trooz. The first more than 2 kilometres go up between 5 and 7％. Then it flattens out towards the top. A few hairpins and you ride in a rural setting. Recently ridden on a Sunday morning with the advantage that there was hardly any traffic.
Hele lekkere klim van 3 kilometer vanuit Trooz. De eerste ruime 2 kilometer gaat het tussen 5 en 7％ omhoog. Daarna vlakt het richting top af. Enkele haarspeldbochten en je rijdt in een landelijke omgeving. Onlangs gereden op een zondagmorgen met als voordeel dat er amper verkeer was.

Lovely climb that is also long and regular. The road surface here is excellent, you don't feel like you're in Belgium for a while. What also helps is that the Côte du Forêt has great views at the top. This climb is highly recommended and well worth the diversions!
Heerlijke klim die bovendien lang, bochtig én regelmatig is qua steilheid. Het wegdek is bovendien hier uitstekend, je waant je even niet in België. Het autoverkeer is ook redelijk rustig en als kers op de taart heeft de Côte du Forêt geweldig mooie uitzichten op de top. Deze klim is een absolute aanrader in vele opzichten en een flinke omweg waard!

Heerlijke klim, landschappelijk mooi, en in ieder geval toen wij er reden erg rustig. Aanrader! Zoals eerder opgemerkt, tussen alle beklimmingen met dubbele cijfers is dit een lekkere loper. Wmb. nergens echt moeilijk.
Start in the valley of the Vesdre but in contrast to its steep neighbours, here the gradients are even. Riding through greenery, regular bends and fresh tarmac: recommended!

I don't think you'll get better than this in the wide area. A great runner, nice bends, view on the beginning of the Ardennes in your back, and also away from the main roads which makes it reasonably quiet cycling. I enjoyed it myself in any case.

In een gebied met veel leuke kuitenbijters met percentages (ver) boven de 10％, is deze klim een uitzondering. Met constante percentages loopt de weg met verschillende haarspeldbochten omhoog door een mooie omgeving. Heel rustig en met een prima wegdek.

Since the floods of July 2021, the traffic has become a bit busier: the main road in the valley is closed and a lot of debris has to be hauled.
If you come by car here (chaudfontaine, trooz, nessonvaux, fraipont...): take some food or stuff to leave at the red cross tents. Many people here have really lost everything.
Echt een topper. Mooi uitzicht, haarspeldbochtjes en constante stijging. Goed asfalt, dus ook in de afdaling fantastisch.
Sinds de overstromingen van juli 2021 is het verkeer wel wat drukker geworden: de hoofdweg in de vallei is afgesloten en er moet veel puin versleept worden.
Als je hier (chaudfontaine, trooz, nessonvaux, fraipont...) komt met de auto: neem wat eten of spullen mee om achter te laten bij de tentjes van het rode kruis. Veel mensen hier zijn écht alles kwijt.
The second climb in my category "Liège Alps", together with the col de la casmatrie. Magnificent climb with beautiful views according to a fine and steady climbing percentage. At the different hairpin bends you have nice views on the surroundings, and at the top a chance to fill your water bottle and to cool down. (In the park left of the main road you will find a water pump with tap at the back)
De tweede klim in mijn categorie "Luikse Alpjes", samen met de col de la casmatrie. Schitterende klim met prachtige vergezichten volgens een fijn en regelmatig klimpercentage. Bij de verschillende haarspelbochten heb je mooie vergezichten over de omgeving, en bovenaan een kans om je bidon te vullen en af te koelen. (In het parkje links van de hoofdweg vind je een waterpomp met kraan aan de achterkant)
Very nice climb, absolutely recommend to put in your route if you are in the area. You're certainly not going to be the only cyclist there when you get there.
Heel mooie klim, absolute aanraden om in je route te steken als je in de buurt bent. Je gaat er zeker niet de enige fietser zijn als je er komt.
I read on Komoot that someone always used it as a warm-up during his training lap and I must tell you that I totally understand. Ik las op Komoot dat iemand deze altijd als opwarmer gebruikte tijdens z'n trainingsrondje en ik moet je zeggen dat ik 'm helemaal begrijp. Op het begin van m'n rit gereden en wat rijdt ie heerlijk, je rijdt van een drukkere weg mooi naar boven over een rustige weg met al snel een schitterend uitzicht. Het wegdek is goed en er is niet heel veel verkeer, echt een aanrader!

Beautiful climb. Not heavy at all and really a climb to spin a mill, possibly on the outside blade. For me it was the break after Rue Tesny, Aux Piedroux and Haute Folie. If you already have heavy legs, you can lose a lot of time on your cycling mates on this climb. At the top you find a nice village, with a lawn and a bench near the church. There is also a pump where you can get fresh water for your bottles, a rarity in Wallonia in my experience.
Prachtige klim. Helemaal niet zwaar en echt een beklimming om een molentje te draaien, eventueel op het buitenblad. Het was voor mij wel de breker na Rue Tesny, Aux Piedroux en Haute Folie. Als je al zware benen hebt, kun je veel tijd verliezen op je fietsmaten op deze klim. Bovenaan vind je een leuk dorpje, met een grasveld en een bankje bij de kerk. Daar is ook een pomp waar je vers water kunt tappen voor in je bidons, een zeldzaamheid in Wallonië in mijn ervaring.

This is really a pearl. Good road surface, quiet, hairpin bends and beautiful views over the hills around Chaudfontaine. According to Strava, the first 2,2 km have an average speed of 6,5％, but we feel that's right, we've been going around 8％ for a while. Once you arrive in the village of Foret, there is a park on your left hand side, where you can have a rest in all quietness (there are enough benches).
Dit is echt een parel. Goed wegdek, rustig, haarspeldbochten en mooie uitzichten over de heuvels rond Chaudfontaine. Volgens Strava is de eerste 2,2 km gemiddeld 6,5％, gevoelsmatig klopt dat wel, zitten wel een stuk rond de 8％. Als je eenmaal in het dorp Foret bent aangekomen heb je aan je linkerhand een park, waar je in alle rust heerlijk kunt uitrusten (er staan genoeg bankjes).

Not too steep (although I still had the shitty Voie de Chars in my legs) and some nice hairpin bends. Now some of those brown cows with bells in the meadow and you imagine yourself in the Alps.

Niet te steil (al had ik die klote Voie de Chars nog in de benen) en enkele mooie haarspeldbochten. Nu nog wat van die bruine koeien met bellen in de wei en je waant je in de Alpen.
