A legendary climb, regularly used by the Tour de France.
The surface is very good and the view of Mont Blanc superb.
In the end, it wasn't as hard as I'd feared, with gentler sections at the start and finish. The real hard part is in the middle of the climb with 1km at almost 11% without respite (with passages at over 12%).
Allows you to move on to the climb to Combloux, Cordon or Megève.

Short but steep. Nice to do if you're passing through. You can then climb up to Combloux and on to Cordon. Great views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding area guaranteed.

Virtually climbed via the Zwift Climb Portal.

I had previously climbed the Côte de Trébiac and afterwards caught up with a RoboPace group that was - unbeknownst to me - climbing the virtual Mont Ventoux. That explains, on the one hand, why my legs felt so heavy while virtually climbing the Côte de Domancy....

The Côte de Domancy is above all an erratic climb. Steep sections to over 13% alternate with running sections of around 4-6%, with even the occasional flat or even descending section. This way, you never get into a rhythm.
On the other hand, of course, you could argue that it is a climb in "steps" with some respite on the less steep sections.
The stretch between kilometres 1.1 and 1.6 is murderous. You try to stay on the pedals as long as possible, which allows you to maintain a decent and tight pace, but you have to sit down after a while anyway. It's a tough stretch, but you're nowhere near there by then. If you blow yourself up here, you'll have a damn hard time in the last kilometre, where a bouncer of no less than 21% awaits you...

Whether you climb it virtually or in real-life, the Côte de Domancy is a stunner!

I already had the climb to Bettex by the Cote des Amerands in my legs when I attacked the foot and frankly it is not as hard as I thought that day I had really good legs (both)
Finally for the amateurs it is to make at least once in its life for me it is made on May 19, 2018.
