La Corniche'is an extraordinary climb with an excellent view of Lake Geneva and the Lavaux. It is exhilarating to do, absolutely recommended! Start in Cully towards Riex. After passing Riex, you pass through Epesses, a village so narrow that the traffic requires a signpost. From there, the corniche is wide, relatively calm and not too steep. One can therefore enjoy the splendid view. Once in Chexbres, rightly called the balcony of Lake Geneva, we take an Espresso and continue towards Mont P... read more

The most beautiful afterwork climb in the world. And sparkly new asphalt all along the Corniche!

A must, so many routes through Lavaux involve this climb. You can sort of mix and match with other 8-15 min climbs through the vinyard villages. Amazingly beautiful.

This really is a magnificent road. You are not going to find nicer views of Lake Lausanne and the vines. Steep it is not. Pure enjoyment

Puur genieten

Incredible climb. For ease of access and sheer beauty cannot be topped. Also a wonderful introduction to climbing for those new to cycling or friends and family. You can also alternatively start the route just outside of Lutry by turning onto route de la petite corniche and then riding through Aran and the lower section of Grandvaux before a short descent into Riex.

A classic, easy climb, allowing you to enjoy the extraordinary views of Lake Geneva and the Lavaux region (UNESCO World Heritage Site). There's plenty of link-ups possible in the area, which has some pretty steep sections.

If you are in the region, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it to ride this hill. The road is called "La petite corniche", which roughly translates to "The small ridge". It winds you through some amazing vineyards that make the Lavaux region so popular. The view over the the lake is amazing.

Half way up the hill you will find one traffic light. Please do make sure to yield to this as it is regulating the traffic through a very small path through an old town. There is no space for a car and a bike, so behave!
