It is worth going up to this location if only to enjoy the view and learn about the special history associated with the small hamlet of Consonno. I am not going to tell you the story, it is however interesting to read in order to reflect a bit on some, let's say bislacche, ideas that a man can conceive. The slope from Villa Vergano coincides for the most part with the ascent to Colle Brianza from Galbiate; at a certain point, having arrived right in the hamlet of Villa Vergano, you turn left and immediately take a nice hard ramp that rips for several meters even over 15%. Once you finish these just under 2km the road flattens out again until you reach a downhill falsopiano that leads to Consonno. Be careful, I recommend, on the descent to Olginatre. Especially the descent, in its first part is really badly tanned. The last kilometers, on the other hand, enjoy somewhat better asphalt.

Attenzione, mi raccomando, a scendere a Olginatre.

Going up from Villa Vergano the climb is easier than from Olginate, although there are a few sections that are a little hard. When you reach the barrier, if it has not rained, you can cross it and descend to the ghost town. Beware of the road and the debris and glass. The place is ghostly.

Tearing up to get to the "ghost town" of Consonno, you climb hard, beautiful views of the pre-Alps and lakes. To get to Consonno there is then a 1km descent, very hard to climb! Worth a try if you are in the area
