pretty climb and quiet in the last 6km once the houses disappear. lots of traffic descending in the morning but quiet road going up. mostly 1.5 lanes. 2 sections of single lane with traffic lights to allow reverse traffic; tricky as i couldnt ride fast enough before the lights changed (9% stretches). cafe opened up top. do not descend via Acquarossa= absolutely awful road surface (cracked, patched, holes, gravelly, a goat track) and very steep in parts.... read more

A beautiful climb, never too hard but not to be underestimated, pleasant in the early morning in cool weather. For those coming from the lower Susa Valley, it is the gateway to the Lanzo valleys, descending towards Viù or as far as Germagnano.
Unfortunately, on weekends from mid-morning onwards it is very busy. Leave early!

Partire presto!

A nice climb, medium length and moderate gradients.
It climbs steadily except for a few points where the gradient eases slightly, for short stretches.
The arrival on the square of the pass is very nice and with a beautiful view.
Chosen on the map because of the fine weather in the area on that day and glad I did it.

Bella salita, media lunghezza e pendenze abbordabili.

Climb feels heavier than described. Many 9 and 10% sections. We missed the 20% stretch there and then? Busy with cars in the beginning, then great road to the top.

Beautiful views only at the top. Steep and quite busy. Nice to make the loop by descending to Viù and passing through Lanzo Torinese.

Panorama bello solo in cima. Ripida e abbastanza trafficata. Bello fare l'anello scendendo a Viù e passando a Lanzo Torinese.

Rode this climb on a warm day with my brother ahead of the Giro d'Italia (2019). Nice to do this climb with closed roads and other fans... meant it was enjoyable and fun.

Probably wouldn't have done this in isolation as i think that the climb is a little dull, although a few small few waterfalls are quite nice to see, and the road is lovely.
