A beautiful climb, easy in the first part, slightly more challenging in the section after the descent (however, never prohibitive).
Highly recommended for the autumn period when you can enjoy the splendid colours of the forest that frames the climb.
A diversion to the Sacra di San Michele, an evocative abbey rich in history, is absolutely recommended.

The tougher of the two climbs. From the lake you climb the first 2km then turn right at the roundabout. From there, up to Villaggio Primavera the climb is easy and straightforward.
After a descent of a few hundred metres, the situation changes and the climb is fixed around 10% until after the Sacra di San Michele square.
The arrival at the pass is nice and easy, once up to the village there is little.
It is better to descend from the other side, it is more scenic and pleasant.

Shaded in parts - great for a hot summers day. Some bits a steep - a perfect reintroduction to Italian cycling - came straight from Milano Malpensa. Wonderful views down into the valley and of Sacré de San Michele.

great shady climb perfect for hot summer afternoon. narrow wooded climb this way up, wider road & less charming from the other side which i descended. quite constant 9% last 4km after the long descent. no views at top, just a couple of signs. not too busy on climb.

A classic of the area, the first part easier but watch out for the last 3/4 km ... at the weekend there is always a bit more traffic due to tourism for the sacra di San Michele, at the end of the climb there is a bar and a fountain, recommended!

The super-classic of Giaveno is always nice, surrounded by beautiful views and in the presence of iconic architecture. The second part is more challenging. The descent from Valgioie is fast and fun. If possible, avoid weekends, the Sacra di Dan Michele attracts many tourists.
