If you do the Col du Rosier (south) from Cheneux, the climb is a bit longer than the variants from Stoumont or from the direction of Trois Ponts. You end up with a fat 9km of climbing with this variant. Although the climb is nowhere really steep, it can serve well as a training climb for the big work in the medium and high mountains. The first part is perfectly calm, from la Gleize on it is beautiful (see Col du Rosier via La Gleize).
