Deze variant van de Hundsruck loopt door een bosweg en is daardoor goed beschut van de zon. Het is een mooie gelijkmatige klim en na 3/4de kom je terug op de hoofdweg. Op bepaalde plaatsen ligt er wat grind en daarom zou ik hem afraden als afdaling. Bergop is het helemaal geen probleem.
Nice climb, but when I did it there was a lot of headwind. Which made this climb a lot harder.

From the village quiet, no one encountered until the junction with Route Joffre. After that, mostly motorbikes. The Route Joffre part has nice tarmac, the part from the village is moderate, but no big holes in the road.

De variant vanuit Bitschwiller-lès-Thann is mooier/fijner, maar deze is ook wel leuk als je van rustige beklimmingen houdt en niet te veel om het wegdek geeft. Mooie, groene omgeving en een riviertje
