Unspectacular ascent, the first of the Tour des Grandes Alpes, the first part of which I did in 2024. On a Friday morning with little traffic. Good to ride. Plenty of shade. Before the climb begins, lots of traffic behind Thonon-les-Bains. The restaurant at the top was not open.... read more

An excellent training pass for all year round, quieter than its neighbor the Col de cou by Draillant, peaceful corners in the middle of the mountain pastures on a beautiful tarmac road with many passages above 10%.

Viel Schatten. Bevor die Anstieg beginnt viel Verkeht hinter Thonon-les-Bains. Oben hatte das Restaurant nicht offen.

Beautiful climb! The woods hug the road creating a nice shade canopy - helpful on hot days. This was the third categorized climb on Etape du Tour 2023 and the pavement condition was ideal. The views over Lake Geneva when the woods have clearings are stunning - just don't take your eyes off the road for long (or stop if you want to really take in the view).
