Road in fairly good condition.
There is about 3km of slightly sustained gradient around 7%. The beginning is a false flat quite frequented by vehicles (until near the Nideck waterfall). The end is again a false flat, much quieter.
The route takes place in the forest and the pass is entirely surrounded by trees (so there are no views).

A fairly pleasant climb, with little traffic, but the false flat is annoying. Although you may be disappointed not to have a view all the way up, except in a few rare places (even at the indicated viewpoint, you can clearly see nothing!), in summer it's very interesting since it's quite cool under the trees, and the 3 to 4 degree difference between the foot and the summit means that even without hot temperatures (I climbed it in the middle of the afternoon, while at the bottom it was 29°C!), the climb is pleasant. The difficulty lies mainly in the 3kms or so constantly at 8%, with a few passages at 11 and 12 according to my Garmin, after these 3kms, marked by the passage next to the viewpoint (with no view), the hardest part is done. It was my first long pass, I rather enjoyed the climb, and despite the long passage at 8% it's doable.

At the start there are several kilometres of false flat, but the 3km stretch in the middle is more difficult. Then you climb gently to the summit. Probably not very interesting for a highly trained rider, but not bad for a touring cyclist like me.

The view from the top of the col has no interest, but after the 7-8% slope you can see the beautiful valley and some nice ruins.
I found this climb not really interesting, a lot of "faux plat" making it a long climb but quite boring in my opinion. Not hard but undermining effort.
Maybe the clouds and rain didn't help having a good time 😬
